Ancient Harvest provided promotional consideration for my participation in this program.
Happy National Pasta Day! In honor of the occasion, I am so excited to share my favorite brand of gluten free pasta today – Ancient Harvest! As a gf mama, I’ve tried a lot of pastas that turned to mush, immediately fell apart, or tasted like wood shavings. Ancient Harvest creates the perfect wheat–free option with their organic Supergrain pasta, and it made the perfect ingredient for the gluten free pasta primavera with autumn veggies recipe I’m sharing with you today!
This collaboration was so fun because I not only got to promote a product I use and love, I got to work with Brett Kerr from The Southern Stand and my go-to photographer and fellow influencer, Jana Kay. The recipe creation was Brett’s, who also happens to be my father, and he graciously allowed me to share it here on Lil Mama Bear!
The “super” in “Supergrain” pasta
True to its title, Ancient Harvest’s Supergrain pasta has many “super” qualities. Here are three reasons why I love Ancient Harvest and never buy any other gluten free pasta:
- their products are organic
- I can count each product’s ingredients on one hand
- it is 100% kid-approved!
Organic
I’m a very picky shopper when it comes to feeding my family. I’m one of those moms you see standing in every aisle of the grocery store looking at labels and comparing nutritional content. One of the words that always catches my eye when shopping for gluten free foods is “organic“. Organic means the ingredients were grown without using pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, gmos, and other scientifically modified techniques.
I buy organic whenever I can because it helps defend my family from harmful chemicals and toxins. Here and there these chemicals may not have an affect, but in excess, toxic substances can have long-term consequences.
Why risk it when it can be so easy to choose organic?
Ingredients
Another part of the label I’m sure to check is the ingredients list. Any “gluten-freek” can attest to the importance of label reading! Usually the less ingredients, the better. Whole foods do not require a lot of enhancement with additives, colors, and ambiguous “flavors” to make them taste good.
When I first checked Ancient Harvest’s ingredients on their Supergrain penne pasta, I couldn’t believe it. There are exactly TWO ingredients: Organic Corn Flour and Organic Quinoa Flour. Both gluten free. Both whole foods.
Kid-Approved
The last super part of Ancient Harvest’s Supergrain pasta is that my family loves it! Whenever I can get Genny to eat something containing green vegetables, it’s a win, and I can always pack lots of yummy veggies into her pasta without her being any the wiser. She loved the gluten free pasta primavera with autumn veggies, a dish which included butternut squash, cauliflower, carrots and zucchini!
Gluten Free Pasta Primavera with Autumn Veggies
Alright, now on to the recipe. This National Pasta Day, we wanted to bring you a recipe that would usher in the new Autumn season, nourish your family, and leave you craving more! Brett married these three concepts beautifully with a gluten-free masterpiece your whole family will love.

I dare you to not have a third helping!
Take one bite of this stuff, and you won’t be able to stop. My husband couldn’t believe there were so many antioxidant–filled vegetables packed into this wonderfully aesthetic dish! If you’re looking for Fall dishes, this gluten free pasta primavera is sure to become a family favorite.
