Are You Overspending?
Save on Diapers and Wipes Every Month
Right after you find out you’re pregnant, what do you do? Jump for joy? Call your mom? Jump on Whattoexpectwhenyou’reexpecting.com? Or do you start a budget? One of the first things to come up when budgeting for a baby is the diapers. So many diapers! Perhaps you are a brave soul, treading the waters of cloth diapering (check out this amazing post on cloth diapering, it will make it seem way less scary!). But if you’re like me, you’re trying to figure out how to save on diapers and wipes!

1. Subscribe & Save
I have compared prices from the grocery store, from Costco, and from Amazon. The best prices are through Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program. Most other prices came to about $0.35 per diaper. The only place where I could find prices as low as $0.02/wipe (I’ve been using Huggies Natural Care Unscented) and $0.14 per diaper (right now Genny’s in Huggies
size 5) is through Amazon’s Subscribe & Save.
To use this service, you will need to be a member of Amazon Prime. You can either skip down and read about Amazon Family, or you can go with a regular Prime account. There are two options here: Prime Discounted Monthly Offering account for $5.99/month or regular Amazon Prime
for $99/year. Last year, we saved over $300 with Amazon Prime, so the savings really makes it worth it.
Another great thing about this subscription service is that you don’t have to worry about going out to buy diapers. However often you like, they will arrive at your front door every month! Talk about convenient. Have you tried lugging a giant box of diapers around a grocery store with a 1 year old?
2. Amazon Family
Through the Amazon Family program, you get all the benefits of Amazon Prime PLUS more! In addition to free 2-day shipping, unlimited Prime streaming music, and access to Prime video streaming, you will receive a 20% discount on diaper subscriptions. As an added bonus, Amazon Family members also receive exclusive discounts and coupons on select items. If you want to save on diapers, this is a great place to start!
Try a 30-day free trial today!
3. Registry completions
Most places you register will give you an added bonus for completing your baby registry. Amazon will give a 10% discount for registry completions. If you add diapers to your baby registry, these will count as well! You don’t even need to buy them for your newborn. You can stock up or use the discount on some diapers for siblings. If you’re going to really save on diapers, you’ve got to get creative!
4. Prime Now
With Amazon Prime, you can sometimes have the option to forgo the Free 2-day shipping in exchange for some Prime Now $$. Prime Now is basically Door Dash but includes local grocery stores, restaurants, and businesses in participating cities. Check to see if your zipcode is covered, and take advantage of that free money to save on diapers AND save yourself a trip to the store.

Good tips! However my son grows so fast, it’s not practical to subscribe anymore because the next month he would need another size.
You can always change your subscription though, there’s no “locked in” subscription. That’s what makes it great! 🙂
