Ever heard of the phrase “what you put ON your body is just as important as what you put IN your body”? That’s because, as your largest organ, your skin absorbs chemicals and nutrients. From ethanol (alcohol) to phthalates, your skin is always “digesting” what you put on it and passing it to your bloodstream. Knowing this, I’m going to introduce you to an organic skinfood brand that takes careful consideration of each ingredient inside its products. Never heard of organic skinfood? Or skinfood at all? Read on, my friend!

What does organic skin care mean?

As always, the definition of organic is ingredients grown without using pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, gmos, or other scientifically modified techniques. Lauric acid, for example, is a common gmo ingredient in skin care products. Go check your lotions and face creams to see if this canola-based ingredient is in your cabinet. Choosing organic products ensures that you are protected from the many potentially harmful chemicals that are found in most skin care products.

What on earth is skinfood?

Quite simply, skinfood is the “food” your skin absorbs from direct contact. Anything in your makeup, your cleansers, your oils, or your moisturizers that are meant to remain in your skin fall into this category. Once absorbed, your skin “eats” these ingredients and dumps them into your bloodstream. Now this process can benefit your body when you have applied nourishing organic skinfood, or it can damage your body by creating a build-up of unnatural, modified substances in the body.

SanRe Organic Skinfood

At the supermarket, drugstore, or even online, there is an endless supply of products marketed to us, the consumer. When you’re a smart, health-conscious shopper, it takes a little more time to compare ingredients and prices, but it is ALWAYS worth it. When I discovered SanRe, I realized how big of a difference organic skinfood made on my whole body.

The concept of feeding and nourishing your skin is foreign to even the largest skincare brands. This is one reason why SanRe sticks out.

Here are some of the SanRe products I have tried:

Pumpkin Mask

What you put on your body matters! Learn why organic skinfood nourishes your skin better than most cosmetic and skin care products. What surprised me about this product was that it is a powder! But that is because this is not only a face mask, but also an exfoliating product. Pumpkin contains beta carotene, zinc, and vitamin a among others. And what is the very first ingredient in SanRe’s Organic Skinfood Pumpkin Medley?? That’s right, organic pumpkin powder. (Compare to glo Pumpkin Enzyme Scrub which has “pumpkin extract” as the 12th ingredient).

After using, my skin felt rejuvenated and fresh. This mask is just what I need to help treat my acne scarring! It also doesn’t hurt that it smells like the autumn season. <3

C-Love

What you put on your body matters! Learn why organic skinfood nourishes your skin better than most cosmetic and skin care products.I started using C-Love before I went to bed. It always makes my face feel moisturized in the morning without that annoying layer of oil or film that some moisturizers leave. Packed with antioxidants, this organic skinfood is definitely nourishing your whole body in addition to your skin cells. Aside from the acerola cherry that gives it that floral scent, C-Love contains organic Turmeric, camellia seed, babassu, safflower oils, ginger, and ginseng. (Click each ingredient here to read more about them).

C-Love packs a powerful punch! Can I just cover my whole body with this stuff, please?

Silky Hands

Right now, it’s a freakish 37 degrees in the middle of the day. For November in Houston, this is crazy, and with crazy cold weather comes extreme dehydration! Daily usage of SanRe’s Silky Hands has protected my hands from getting chapped in the cold. Containing shea butter, aloe vera, and beeswax, this miracle skinfood is a MUST for the winter season!

Tickled Pink

What you put on your body matters! Learn why organic skinfood nourishes your skin better than most cosmetic and skin care products.Tinted with real raspberries, Tickled Pink makes an excellent face moisturizer and even makeup primer! Its slight shimmer and pink hue (from hibiscus powder) gives your skin a healthy glow and helps nourish your skin with antioxidants aplenty. This is one of my favorite products because it smells so yummy I nearly want to eat some! But best to save it all for my skin…

Eye of Youth

If you’re a mom, then circles under your eyes is an issue. Even if you’re not a mom, if you have a stressful career, a demanding job, tiresome relatives… this eye cream is for you. One of the things I love about SanRe is that they not only provide every single ingredient to their products, they explain every single ingredient as well. Knowledge is power! And SanRe is empowering you with knowledge of organic skinfood and all the reasons why their ingredients are the best.

This eye cream contains baobab oil (extracted from the Adasonia tree) and prickly pear seed oil. No, I’m not making these names up! Also infused with coffee extract, Eye of Youth indeed gives you the anti-aging benefits without the danger of botox injections.

Sacred Spice Oil

What you put on your body matters! Learn why organic skinfood nourishes your skin better than most cosmetic and skin care products.‘Tis the season to get spicy! The spice in this body oil comes from pH balancing orange essential oil. This oil smells like the exotic oils it contains, including chia seed oil, jojoba oil, and ylang ylang essential oil. I apply this to my elbows for some moisturizing and defense against the cold fall/winter months.

Rose Cleanse

What you put on your body matters! Learn why organic skinfood nourishes your skin better than most cosmetic and skin care products.I’ve saved the best for last! I am obsessed with this rose cleanser. My skin has never smelled so good and been so soft! One difference between SanRe’s organic skinfood rose cleanser is it uses castille soap rather than dehydrating, sodium-containing soaps. Coupled with Bulgarian rose oil and rose hydrosol, this cleanser is already on my Christmas list!
